Phoebe said, “I think that you should vote for the candidate who you think is going to get you closest to who you think is going to get you closest to So if I'm that person, great, I hope you vote for me. One of the wise things I have heard when it comes to elections is elections are not Uber service. You can't choose a person and get exactly to your destination. It's more like a public bus. So you need to think about the candidates that are on the ballot and you choose the candidate that's going to get you closest to your destination. So I welcome you to think about the destination that you would like us to go to and think about where I would like us to go. And if I'm going to get us closest to your destination than the other candidates on the ballot, I please invite you to vote for me.”

 

What should Voters Know about Phoebe VanScoy-Giessler?

Phoebe said, “I think I want people to know that the way that I approach my campaign is the way that I try and I endeavor to approach life. So it's all about fairness and equity, it's compassion, and it's finding common ground with everybody aroundus so that we can all live our very best lives.”

 

What should voters know before they cast their ballot?

Phoebe said, “ i know we say this every election cycle but it's always true this is the most important election that we've had in our lifetime i don't care if you're 108 or 58 or 28 this is the most important election that we have had in our lifetimes it's a midterm some people aren't prone to to get out and vote in the midterms but i do hope that you understand all up and down the ballot how important this election is and i know that as a state rep i'm like probably page seven of your ballot but i hope you'll stick in there and turn that page and get to the place where in there and turn that page and get to the place where you can vote for me because i really do think that working with the other amazing folks that are in this race and who want to help new hampshire become the very best that we can make a difference and bring new hampshire to a bright beautiful future.”

 

What are Phoebe’s three biggest priorities?

Phoebe said, “Lots of things get my attention but the things that I think I can help the most with as a member of the State House is to deal with what's happening with our funding of education. I want to make sure our public schools are fully funded and the very best they can be. I'm also very concerned about the taxes that are now coming to our property owners and we need to come up with a common-sense property tax solution. And then finally given that I have two young adult children who are trying to launch and find places to live on their own I'm very concerned about affordable housing for young families who are starting out and even actually for retirees who again it goes back to their property taxes.”

 

Why is Phoebe running for office?

Phoebe said, “Well, that's a great question. I am running because I love our community, I love the state of New Hampshire, and I love our country. And I want to make sure that we're headed on the right path. There's a quote that I found from Teddy Roosevelt not too long ago, and it's familiar. It's, you know, you got to do the best you can with what you have, where you are. And when I looked at what it took to be a representative for the state of New Hampshire in the House, I realized I did have what it took, and I had the time to make it happen. So, I am excited to be one of the voices that represents our community in the State House, and I hope that I can make some positive change and keep the things that we love true about New Hampshire, and maybe amend some things that aren't quite going on the right path.”
